Where are you located?
We’re located inside Camden Whole Health at 91 Elm Street, Camden.
What should I wear?
We recommend comfortable clothes including pants or a full-length skirt. You may wish to bring an extra layer in case you need it.
What about my ears?
While the chamber pressurizes and depressurizes, you’ll need to equalize pressure in your eardrums just as you would in a plane. We can make this process as slow as you need.
Is there a risk of fire?
The chamber is pressurized with ambient air (while you breathe 90% oxygen through a mask), meaning there’s no elevated risk of fire.
What can I bring in the chamber?
You’re welcome to bring electronic devices such as cell phones, laptops, tablets, and e-readers; books; and a personal pillow, or blanket if desired (the chamber has a pillow and blanket inside by default).
How big is the chamber?
The chamber is 26 inches in diameter and 84 inches in length when inflated.
Can I feel the pressure?
Maybe, but just barely.
Are there any downsides?
It’s possible to experience what’s known as a Herxheimer or Herx reaction from HBOT therapy due to its action against anaerobic pathogens in the body, which may temporarily increase fatigue or other symptoms. While this is a temporary flare, it’s up to your personal judgement whether to continue HBOT therapy.
Can I see out of the chamber?
Yes, there is a window above you.
Can I bring a second person?
If you have a driver/guardian/etc. with you, they can sit in the room if preferred (the clinic also has a waiting area).
I’m scent-sensitive. Do you use scented products?
No, Camden Whole Health is scent-free.
